Is Nintendo a good company?
To the naked eye, this question might seem dumb, but over the past year, many Nintendo fans have been asking themselves this question. There are many reasons for this, first off we can talk about the whole ignoring fans wishes thing, especially when it comes to stuff like completive gaming. For those who don't know, Nintendo has many times screwed over their competitive player base, mainly in Smash Bros., but there has been other examples like Splatoon. Focusing on Smash, the community has been very split ever since quarantine has started because they are frustrated with the poor online service, and other stuff like pulling the game from many big venues. This has led to players being worried about their games' future and what they will do if it fails. Another reason why fans are frustrated is because of the handling of the Super Mario 35th anniversary. Many players were disappointed with how this turned out. When it came to games released, fans were upset that they were just ports of previous games with little to no changes, but that's not it, people were also upset that the games were a limited time, only being available until March 31st. The last and biggest reason why fans have been turning on Nintendo is because of their online service. Nintendo Switch Online has been around since 2019, and fans are heavily split. This is because the whole package is worth it, but the online is horrible! It's a common joke among fans that you're buying it for retro games instead of the actual online service. Fans have cried out for improvements, but so far little to none have came for certain games. To conclude the Nintendo community right now is very split on if they like the company or not. If you ask me, I would say I like the company, but they do make some bad decisions. What are your thoughts on Nintendo?
