Persona 5 - Good, but overrated?

Image
Considering I've made a few posts so far , I'm surprised that I haven't made a game review yet. Well, let's start by getting people mad! So... Persona 5, it's a game, and it's heavily loved throughout many communities, whether that be the actual Persona community, the smash community, or just the PlayStation community. Many people love it's story and visual appeal, and say it's one of the best modern day RPGs. I have to disagree however. Oh it's not a bad game, in fact I think it's a pretty good game, but I think it's nowhere near the level it's praised at. People praise this game for being great or even perfect! This to me is majorly overrating the game. This is because while I played the game, I noticed several key things that took me away from loving this game like most others. To start off, the gameplay. Now many people love Persona's gameplay since it's a mix between a normal turn based RPG, and stealth games. Now I have no ...

Sony Acquires Evo - What is the future of Smash?

Image
Well... this was out of nowhere. If you don't know already, Sony, the makers of the PlayStation have acquired Evo. More casual gamers might ask, well, what is Evo? Well my dear reader, Evo is the biggest e-sports event for fighting games at the moment, so this is a huge announcement for anyone in the fighting game scene. Not only does this mean new games might get chances to shine, but it also means for the remaining games the prize pool will be much bigger and games might even gain more attraction because of it! All of this might sound great, but there is one audience of players that are worried for their games' future. That audience is the Super Smash Bros. community, and the reason that their worried is obvious, Sony is one of the two big competitors that Nintendo has. Therefore, fans are now worrying that Smash will be cut from the lineup forever. Rather it be from Sony or Nintendo not allowing the game to appear. For Smash players, this announcement could have not come at...

Is the PS5 Worth it?

Image
I'll just start this off by saying, no, the PS5 as of right now is not worth buying, but if you want to secure one for the future, go right ahead. Why do I say this? Well let's be honest here, the thing so far has little to exclusives. It reminds me of when the Nintendo Switch came out in 2017, and early on it wasn't really worth it because the lack of exclusives. The only people that bought the Switch at launch were hardcore Zelda fans or investors for later, and the PS5 right now to me, is the exact same thing. The only people buying a PS5 right now are diehard PlayStation fans or investors waiting for later releases. People might bring up the fact that you can play PS4 games on the PS5, but if you're using the PS5 just to play PS4 games slightly faster, than can I ask... Why did you buy a PS5? I don't know, that just seems like a huge waste of money for me. People might be wondering, why am I talking only about the PS5 and not also the Xbox Series X? Well that...

Is Nintendo a good company?

Image
To the naked eye, this question might seem dumb, but over the past year, many Nintendo fans have been asking themselves this question. There are many reasons for this, first off we can talk about the whole ignoring fans wishes thing, especially when it comes to stuff like completive gaming. For those who don't know, Nintendo has many times screwed over their competitive player base, mainly in Smash Bros., but there has been other examples like Splatoon. Focusing on Smash, the community has been very split ever since quarantine has started because they are frustrated with the poor online service, and other stuff like pulling the game from many big venues. This has led to players being worried about their games' future and what they will do if it fails. Another reason why fans are frustrated is because of the handling of the Super Mario 35th anniversary. Many players were disappointed with how this turned out. When it came to games released, fans were upset that they were just p...

Current Videogame Controllers

Image
The state of current day videogame controllers is very interesting. Back about 16 years ago, we were still looking for the standard, meaning that companies were still experimenting, but eventually the standard eventually became the Xbox 360 controller. This controller is still considered by many the greatest videogame controller of all time. This shows with many other companies using a similar style to it in the modern day, such as the Nintendo Switch pro controller. Even past when the standard was set, other companies still urged for better and kept on experimenting, for example Nintendo, who revolutionized motion controls with the Wii remote, which eventually lead to it's modern day counterpart in the joycon. Then there is Sony who has forever stood with the dualshock design, but have been tweaking it slightly, the most significant tweak they have made it the past years has been the new PS5 controller design. If you ask gamers today... What is your favorite controller? They will...
